Within this series, Jimenez is embodying fictional narrative scenes through costume and gesture, based on actual experiences had by her parents so that their unique personal narrative becomes part of her own. Working through complex issues regarding authenticity and dominating cultural ideas, she aims to present a series of highly personal portraits of a cultural experience that have many different viewpoints that she was never a part of. Within these reenactments she is bringing in their experiences into her own context of home.
